press release

cardiff (wales, uk) based one-man-band doubtsower releases his third lp on thursday 2nd may 2024.

expanding on the foundations laid on his 2021 debut "asphyxiation of seasick soul" and the 2022 follow-up "the endless shadow of despicable power", "nothing reduced to everything" further blurs the lines between blackened doom, post-metal, stoner, and electronic experimentation.

characteristically uncompromising, aesthetically raw, and fuelled by a diy ethic, the six-track album was solo-recorded in practice room spaces and at home, with greg chandler (esoteric) handling mastering duties.

taking inspiration from a slew of underground scenes (outside of doubtsower, strangis plays bass in doom merchants "pantheist", and also produces experimental electronic music under the alias "kyam"), "nothing reduced to everything" is a non-purist, yet reverential, take on doom metal.

available digitally and on limited-run cd, on strangis' own ubaii / unbidden audio label.

reviews

"easily the most unique and out there doom album I have heard so far this year" (the kill chain / doom charts peroration may 2024)

"the whole deal is a trip and a far more demanding listen than I’d expected based on the first ten or so minutes it’d presented, definitely give this one more than just one or two pieces to impress" (mystification zine)

"a truly unique, imaginative, and unconventional album that tries to make a lot of things works–and nails it every damn time" (doomed 4 metal)

"doubtsower sought to travel down a path entirely its own... “nothing reduced to everything” sees ambition and talent come together in equal amounts to make for an absolutely wild album that leaves nothing on the table" (headbanger reviews)

"once again a huge win for experimental doom fans who are fortunate enough to encounter it in the wild" (wonderbox metal)

"feels like a decent into madness... makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up in a creepy way" (forgemaster metal - featured in "top 10 best doom metal albums of 2024")
